By Naresh Belliyappa

Blogs are similar to a personal diary recording the blogger's own insights, opinions and thoughts. Like a diary, it is updated as often as the blogger desires with the submissions posted in a chronological manner. Unlike a personal journal, it can be interactive and is a great way to disseminate information that is based on the actual experience of the blogger, so if he/she posts a comment on a product or service, you know that it is probably truer than the advertising hyperbole you would get from the advertiser. All you need for blogging is an account with blog providers. In most cases, these kinds of blogs are free of charge. Generally, blogs are created for personal use. It is a chronicle in which one can write about one's personal experiences, thoughts, opinions and sentiments. However, with the increased use of the Internet in conducting businesses, blogs have gradually taken on the role of providing the web savvy entrepreneur a chance to boost their productivity online. Business blogs are created to advertise the services or products of a certain web site or Internet business in order to increase online sales. Furthermore, business blogs can be used to creatively promote the company so that the other readers will know that it exists online. With blogs, entrepreneurs are able to advertise their product or brand name to millions on the Internet through articles that can be very useful to the reader. From there, it is a short step to creating a second stream of income by syndicating it to your business’ web site. This can be done through RSS technology.

One of the primary motives for blogging is the desire to be heard, to share your views with the wider community in as creative a manner as possible. In order to reach a large audience, start with topical matters or those that are of general interest to many. After you have built up a sizable list of readers, you could narrow your focus, preferably after discussing it with them.

2. Pictures speaks a thousand words - Graphics always enhance the viewing experience of those who visit your site, so adding a few pictures can personalize your blog, making the reader feel that he/she has a connection to you. This can make your writings and comments credible and the viewer more amenable to your advice or suggestions. Avoid putting up pictures that could cause discomfort to your viewers. As the Internet grapevine is always active and extremely fast, before you know it, you could wind up with a lot of negative press - the last thing you would want if you want to make money off your blog.

3. Create blogs that are informative - Although you are at liberty to write just about anything you feel like, it would be better to write about matters that would be beneficial to your readers. However, if there are terms that you must use that are not commonly understood, but are essential to topic you are writing about, you could clarify them in a simple and concise way. Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do scan the pages unless something spikes their interest. Also try not to have unconnected themes in your blog. It could be very disconcerting to the viewer to read about one topic in one paragraph and something totally different in the next

5. Make it interactive - As much as possible make your blog interactive. You can do this by placing video or audio clips in your blog. You can even have an area for comments or for feedback. In this way, you can get the reactions of your readers and strengthen your relationship with them. By taking into account the feedback you receive an making changes to your blog accordingly, you send the message to your viewers that you respect their opinions and this in turn makes them trust you, allowing you to build a solid base of subscribers for your website, newsletter, membership club or any online venture you would like to try your hand at.

To forge strong bonds, you need to make them feel at home even though the contact between you and them is only via the Internet. 1. Google Adsense

Google Adsense delivers text and image ads to the authorized websites/blogs depending on the content of the website. Small code is required to be pasted at proper locations on a webpage and Google automatically recognizes the page. Google shares the revenue it gets from the advertisers whenever a visitor clicks on these ads.

Google bills advertisers on price per click basis (PPC). Advertisers are required to pay only when any visitor clicks on their ads. They bid against each other for the keywords in order to receive better placement and thus prices for each keyword differ from one another. It is better to choose keywords for your blog which pays high $ per click.

2. Amazon

Amazon Associate program is another important way to make money blogging. The Amazon Associate program gives opportunity to website/blog publishers to promote any product from its inventory by adding a predefined code to their website/blog, which, when clicked by a visitor, takes them to the relevant product page. Once the visitor buys the product, the blog owner will be compensated with a commission.

You can use Blogads as an effective tool to have a better control over the advertisers in your blogs. You can analyze and compare your profits with any one of your online agencies. Blogads can be simply specified as an advertising service used for the web logs or blogs. From the total money generated by Blogads, it retains 20% of it and the remaining money is paid to you through PayPal or checks.

These affiliate programs can provide a better reach and an in-depth exposure to the products. The commissions for the sales differ according to the quality of the product, sales and marketing strategy involved. You can gather information related to the commissions by looking into the catalogues of Link Share and Commission junctions.

5. Text Links

Text links has emerged out to be the best form of moneymaking source that you can use instead of cluttering or crowding the page with ads. You don’t have to make these text links prominent within your website. This link can act as an extra value to your site and will also help to promote the rankings of other sites. In most of the cases you will find these text links placed in the bottom of the web pages. The best part of this strategy is that the publishers send and accept links as the market continues to grow.

Blogging Tips

By Harmony Xu

Organic traffic from search engines is what you're always suppose to be focusing on. Work with your main targeted keyword, search this keyword in search engines and advertise your link on the top sites you see on the search results. Thus, when search engines crawl the sites, the bot will follow and crawl the site links on their page.

Your Key: Search engines love fresh content, be sure to update your blog daily with new content. I can't even stress how important this is.

Link Exchanges

Link exchanging is another way of driving traffic and build backlinks. Search for partners relating to your niche.

Always have some money set aside for marketing your blog, my suggestions are to pay for directory submission services to help build your backlink and pagerank.

Keywords only about a specific topic

Say you made a post today about the internet, what would the post
mostly talk about? Yes, that's right - the internet. Blog posts would
mainly only talk about one thing, or niche, it would be easier for search engines
to determine its theme thus making it rank higher.

Keyword Density

Why post a 1000 word blog post and bore your readers? Short blog posts about one subject means having a high keyword density. Having keyword rich titles give search engines a good overview of your site and also increases your keyword prominence, meaning how early a keyword appears in text.

Having your URLs as or is more search engine friendly
than having Most blogging systems gives you the ability to modify this.

Services such as BlogLet allows you to generate a form for your visitors to subscribe to your blog.
Everytime you update with a new blog entry, your subscribers receives an email notification.

So what are trackbacks?
Trackbacks, also known as pingbacks is a method in blogs that enables automatic cross-references between weblog articles.
For example, if someone writes an entry on the importance of water, and you have a related article base on the topic, you can point your entry link to the article you just viewed.
This way readers can read your piece too via the link submitted.

Ping is a blog ping service that pings or notifies weblog services and blog directories that your blog has been updated. Thus enabling them to index your blog fast and make your content available for a larger audience.
